Before the Overwatch Champions Series North America Stage 1 Main Event, Kryix chatted with Brigitte main and Lifeweaver enthusiast Kyle "Rakattack" Rakauskas, support for Students of the Game.
Your team, Students of the Game, formed rather last minute. How have you gelled as a team over the last few weeks?
We have come together greater than I predicted which is great for this team-based meta.
Your first-round opponent is M80––which of their players are you most watching out for?
Renko, he's got a sneaky good Moira.
How do you feel about this Mauga meta we find ourselves in?
Personally, I’m a big fan of this meta even though it's taken poorly by the community. Fits our team well too.
Author's note: After much reminding, Rakattack answered our questions live on-stream Tuesday. However, during his answers, a new Overwatch 2 hot fix was released which largely reversed the Mauga buffs. We captured this amazing clip of Rakattack reacting to the patch.
Brigitte seems like an unpopular pick right now, why do you think that is?
She's dogshit. Her playstyle is mostly to defend dive and enable flankers which is not needed in the current brawl/rush [meta] with Lucio as he can do the job better. Also, the DPS passive hurt her personal Inspire healing and survivability.
